Lots of information being given out in this page. A lot of this information plays a big role later in the storyline. What was established was that Joel is clean of any black magic controlling him, but the burning of the book doesn't destroy his magic ability altogether because the black magic was technically not his own. He still has yet to access his own magic ability.

Hey! Gwen makes a cameo in this arc after all!
I wanted to address a situation that has come up. School is starting up again next week and along with work, some days I may not have time to do a story page. I don't know exactly when this will go into effect, seeing as how I'm a few days ahead of schedule with the comic, but soon, the story schedule is going to change. See, every day, before I start the actual comic page, I sketch it out so I don't waste time in the writing process because I'm too lazy to script it out. As school is starting, I'm not going to have time to do both a sketch of the story page and a story page in the same night.
So, effective eventually, is the new schedule. Instead of a story page everyday, it would be a story page every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and weekends. Tuesday's and Thursday's, unfortunately, I have to work on the sketch for the story page. I don't know yet if I'm just going to skip those days in general, or put up a drawing from my sketchbook. I hope everyone can understand that the worst thing a person can do is rush something. I want the page to look it's best and in order to do that, I need time. Again, I don't know when this new schedule will go into effect, but it's inevitable.

Alas, we end the Clone Arc on a potential cliffhanger that may or may not be explored later on. Today is actually the two month anniversary of Clone Arc. It started May 6th so this turned out to be great timing.
I wanted to address the importance of this cliffhanger. You may have noticed already that Gwen doesn't really have strong friendships with Claire or Kevin. They're friends, but not great friends. What this means is, now that Gwen is at Marville South, we won't be seeing much of her for a while. As sad as it is, I'm kind of saying goodbye to her character for now.
The character who is talking to Gwen, if you didn't know, is Marville North's principal. His look is based off of one of my former teacher. That's just a little fun fact. He was in a story from earlier days of the comic that I never put on the site, so technically this is his 2nd appearance in the comic.

Alas, we end part 3 with a bang. Spanish clone is dead, and Eric and Erica are on the hunt for the evil clone. All is bad and it's up to them to stop the bad guy. It's generic, but it makes for a good story. Gwen is so dang smart that she can see through the fourth wall.

How does Erica already know Joel? You'll see later. I love how quick they are to throw Spanish Eric under the bus. But, in fairness, he has nothing left to add to the story, so might as well kill him off. It's not really death as much as it is going into a machine. I like to think of it being like a Pokemon inside of a Pokeball. You don't know what's going on in there, but it's probably awesome.

I give a slow clap of respect to those who figure out what Spanish Eric says in panel 2. I'd also like to call attention as to why Gwen isn't freaking out. She is a scientist gosh darnit, and scientists never ever freak out about anything. The only way to solve the problem is with science. If I were in her shoes, I'd be freaking out. An evil version of one of your best friends is on the loose to do God knows what. That's scary stuff.

Quoting Ghostbusters is a must, especially when it comes to screwing around with science. What I like about this device is that nobody really knows what it does, it's just there. Gwen hasn't tested it and she doesn't really know much about it's contents. But yet, Eric decides it's a good idea to lean on it. Silly Eric, don't you know that's dangerous.

Like I've said in the character descriptions, Gwen is super smart. She is a scientific prodigy. No 17 year old high school student should be able to create devices that actual life long scientists can make. It's not normal. But, this comic isn't normal. So by laws of normality, in this world, it's normal. The whole clean energy thing was definitely inspired by The Avengers when Tony Stark supplies his tower with clean energy. Pat on the back if you noticed that.
