If nobody got the gag, it's an obvious reference to the Amanda Show skit with Tony Pajamas. I felt as though the reference was 100% appropriate considering the situation.
GLD Comics is an ongoing story following a group of teenagers and their adventures and experiences in the town of Marville, where odd situations seem to constantly occur. New story pages posted Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What Erica says in panel 3 is something that had to be addressed. Why is there no soda at this party, simply, it's a typical high school party. Erica takes an aspect from what I do in those situations, find the only non-alcohalic beverage around. Eric also takes an aspect of my personality with the couch fanatics. I hate parties, and instead of being in the crowd, I'd much rather be in a secluded place by myself or with a few friends.

You know, once in a while I'll get that 1 absolutely perfect drawing of Kevin. Panel 1 is an example of that. Another example is here in Panel 2. Don't worry. cleaner art is coming soon. I personally hate when my characters stand perfectly still with no hand or arm movement. I mean, it's okay sometimes, but not all the time, and I feel I've over-exaughsted that.

For a while here, it gets kind of dramatic. Hence, lots of yelling at people.
On another note. I'm learning (finally). Yes, I'm done being stubborn and I'm done saying "I want to teach myself." I'm amateur and I need to understand this. I'm taking notes and references on different things and i will try my best to apply them to upcoming comics (no later than 2 weeks). This will include things such as characters stances (as in how the characters stand and what they do with their arms), camera angles, and something I can expand on... Wind effects on the hair. I also need to learn that some characters hair is not stone. It does not stand still. I'm learning, so please bear with me. We are entering a time when I'm trying to make my work better, it will be in the future. I promise. Time is kind of tight right now, but I'm not neglecting the comic. My ability to cartoon needs to be at an 11, right now I think I'm at about an 8 (if not less).

I wanted to address a situation that has come up. School is starting up again next week and along with work, some days I may not have time to do a story page. I don't know exactly when this will go into effect, seeing as how I'm a few days ahead of schedule with the comic, but soon, the story schedule is going to change. See, every day, before I start the actual comic page, I sketch it out so I don't waste time in the writing process because I'm too lazy to script it out. As school is starting, I'm not going to have time to do both a sketch of the story page and a story page in the same night.
So, effective eventually, is the new schedule. Instead of a story page everyday, it would be a story page every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and weekends. Tuesday's and Thursday's, unfortunately, I have to work on the sketch for the story page. I don't know yet if I'm just going to skip those days in general, or put up a drawing from my sketchbook. I hope everyone can understand that the worst thing a person can do is rush something. I want the page to look it's best and in order to do that, I need time. Again, I don't know when this new schedule will go into effect, but it's inevitable.

OoOoOoO do I spy some foreshadowing into future story lines? Possibly. I won't go straight out and say it, but I'm pretty sure you can guess what's being foreshadowed. We won't get into that for a long time. Probably around February of 2013.

If you haven't noticed, I've basically given up on trying to look the least bit realistic with the way hair is positioned. It may be only an artist's view on it and other people probably don't notice, but I've never had Eric or Erica look in that direction and have their hair just be in the opposite direction with the face. It's weird to describe, but it's true. You can look back. The hair stays the same.

I try my best not to make the characters look too realistic. Mainly for the sake that this comic isn't supposed to be a legit, professional comic. It's supposed to be seen like watching a cartoon, but in comic format. The bottom line is that I'm not a professional artist. I'm more of a cartoonist.

Hey! First commentary in a while. So it's pretty coincidental that I happen to end Part 1 on August 6th, my 5 month anniversary of the comic. Since part 1 took about a month to get through, and it wasn't even really that long compared to what I have planned for part 2, part 2 may take up to 2 months, so brace yourselves.

This is a sketch from a storybook I had to write and draw for my French class. The story included Eric, Mary and Kevin. The assignment was for us to write and draw a children's story in French, so I decided to use these wonderful characters. The story followed Eric's day at school as he talks with Mary and Kevin and has a normal day, until a dragon comes and kidnaps Mary. Then it's up to Eric to save the day. Perhaps I will one day put up the entire story.

I'd like to point out that the day in comic continuity is Thursday November 29th. So yeah, I don't like to focus a lot on the back ground when we're in the lunchroom setting. I didn't include the fact that it's lunchtime because 1. I didn't have any room on the top of the page, and 2. I thought it's already assumed because of the table and the plates on the table, etc.
Sadly, I'd also like to say that tomorrow and Saturday will both be Sketch days. This is due to the fact that I will be at Lollapalooza Friday and Saturday, I won't have time. Story pages will return Sunday and we should be wrapping up Part 1 fairly soon.

Technically, Erica has 3 lives, not 2. By circumstance, she has her life now, with Eric in normal comic continuity, she had her life in her own universe, and she shares memories with Eric. So I was wrong, she technically DOES have 3 lives. If you don't count sharing memories with Eric as a life then she has has two.
