FAQ

Welcome to GLD Comics! Before we get started, I'll clear some things up and explain a little bit with some FAQs.

Who are you?
My name is Anthony.

When did you start GLD Comics?
I started GLD Comics on March 17th, 2012 - took a hiatus starting in May 2015

When do you update?
I've been doing a page a day ever since (give or take a day or two). As of February 2013, I've changed the schedule to Story pages every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a possible sketch on Saturday (It's a surprise whenever I post sketches... Usually never). I get forgetful sometimes, though. Sorry.

I'm a new reader and I'm lost, what do I do?!
First of all, calm down. Then, you should probably start here, at Character And Story Details, then work your way to the starting point of the story here. GLD Comics is a continuous story, meaning that there may be endings to arcs and seasons, but it is all part of an overall, super long and seemingly never ending story. I recommend highly that you start from the beginning at Character And Story Details to understand fully what is going on.

What is the starting point of GLD Comics?
I'm uploading from my starting point of season 1, The Clone Arc, which started on May 6th, 2012 (Real life time) and November 6th (Comic continuity). There are a few stories that I have written and drawn before The Clone Arc, though I will not be posting them on the site for now. Everything before The Clone Arc that you need to know will be explained here and in the commentary.

Why aren't you posting the earlier comics?
The reason why I'm not uploading anything before is because it's too all over the place. It's that bad in the very beginning, like worse than you'd think. But, like everything, it got a tiny bit better with time.

Where can I find an explanation to things that happened before Clone Arc?
Here, dummy.

How do you draw?
I generally use loose leaf paper without digital enhancements. In other words, it's all by hand on paper, not drawn digitally. The reason that is is because, for the most part, I don't know how to use digital enhancements and I'm too lazy to learn. I like keeping my things in a notebook. It's organized. I eventually hope to get to a point where I have full knowledge and technology to produce the entire comic digitally. Until then, we have to stick with the amateur loose leaf style, done one paper. I know that can be distracting, somewhat, but I hope readers can overcome this and keep reading. THE ART DOES GET BETTER, I assure you.

How did you come up with the name GLD and what does it stand for?
It's an acronym. Open for interpretation.

What is the difference between Story pages and Sketch pages?
Story pages are meant to be strictly for the story of GLD Comics, and sketch pages are doodles I have from my sketchbook. There is currently no tab for sketches, and that's something I'm trying to figure out. So, as a different option, sketches are posted through the archives of GLD Comics and you can specifically find them in the right-hand archive bar.

Are there characters based off of people you know or yourself?
Yes and no. I try very hard not to base characters off of people I know, but some designs and appearances of some characters are based off people in my life. Although I based appearances on some select people, personality and character are completely different and original.

How far ahead are stories written?
I usually write the map and general ideas of what I want to happen in the next story about a month before the current story is finished.

Where can I find the beginning of stories?
There are links underneath the homepage icon. For a more in depth achieve visit the tab "GLD Archive."

Anthony, I've noticed some continuity errors, spelling errors, and things left out of stories. What happened?
Dude, anything that has those errors are early on in early arcs from Season 1. I've gotten a lot better with storytelling, writing, art, and my overall process of doing things. I try my best, now, to make sure those things are covered. Also, I started GLD Comics when I was like 15, it happens and I've worked on it. I've learned a lot over these years.

Does the art/story get better over time?
Like fine wine.

Hope you enjoy! For new readers, if you haven't been paying attention, you can start reading! Good luck!
